Weblication CMS Agency

You run a website on the Weblication CMS and need someone who actually takes care of it? As a Weblication CMS agency from Bavaria, we handle maintenance, updates, ongoing development and the tricky cases other agencies give up on – with a dedicated contact person and short paths.

Sound familiar?

  • Your current agency is slow to respond, or you cannot reach them at all any more.
  • Something on your Weblication website is broken and nobody is reliably fixing it.
  • Your Weblication version is outdated and nobody dares to touch the update.
  • You need a change or an extension that goes beyond the usual.

Then a conversation is the fastest route to an assessment.

What we do - What we build for you with Weblication Support

  • Content upkeep & editing

New pages, texts, images, downloads, news and job postings – we maintain your content on demand. Or we set everything up so your team can work confidently in the Weblication editor without breaking the layout.

  • Updates & security

We keep your Weblication installation current: version updates, patches, PHP compatibility, backups and SSL. Before every major update we check templates and extensions, so nothing looks unexpectedly different afterwards.

  • Custom templates & layouts

Adjusting templates, building new page types, restructuring navigation, fixing responsive behavior. We work directly in the Weblication templates including HTML, CSS and JavaScript – even when your website has grown over many years.

  • Forms & functionality

Contact, application and registration forms that reliably arrive. Plus search features, protected areas, newsletter connections or interfaces to your other systems.

  • Accessibility (German BFSG & BITV)

Weblication is widely used by municipalities, schools and public institutions – exactly where BITV 2.0 applies, and since June 2025 the German Accessibility Act (BFSG) covers many private-sector sites too. We audit contrast, structure, alt texts and keyboard navigation and fix the issues right in the templates.

  • Technical SEO & performance

Clean page titles and meta setup, redirects, structured data, fast load times and Core Web Vitals. Especially during a relaunch, the redirect strategy decides whether your rankings survive or vanish.

  • Relaunch & migration

A new design on your existing Weblication base, moving to a current version, changing servers – or an orderly migration away from Weblication when that is honestly the better fit. We tell you upfront what makes sense.

  • Agency handover & rescue

If your previous agency is no longer reachable, we take over. We sort out access to server, CMS and domains, document the current state and tell you honestly what needs cleaning up – without you having to rebuild everything.

  • Training & editor support

A hands-on introduction to the Weblication editor for your team, explained on your actual website. Afterwards we stay reachable by phone or email whenever a question comes up.

Why a Weblication CMS agency is hard to find

Weblication is a German content management system that is sold and deployed almost exclusively through agencies. That has a pleasant effect – the installations tend to be stable and cleanly built – and an unpleasant one: when your agency disappears, there are not ten thousand freelancers around the corner like with WordPress. Which is exactly why websites regularly land on our desk whose owners searched for months without finding anyone.

We are not a content-upkeep shop that only pastes in text. We are software developers – and you notice that exactly where it hurts: a version update stuck on old templates, a form whose emails end up in spam, an interface to your ERP or applicant management system, server configuration and DNS. Those cases are why people search for a Weblication agency in the first place – not the tenth image gallery.

On top of that comes honest judgment: we tell you when a change is not worth the effort, when a relaunch beats the next band-aid – or when Weblication simply is no longer the right base for your plans. You get one dedicated contact person who knows your project instead of a ticket system with rotating agents. We are based in the Upper Palatinate and support clients across Bavaria and beyond – most of the collaboration happens remotely anyway.

Concretely, Weblication competence means this: we work in CORE and in GRID. CORE is the single-project license that the vast majority of company, association and municipal sites run on; GRID is the multi-project platform for many editors and high traffic. The difference decides whether a requested feature is configuration or development – and we clarify that before the quote, not after.

On versions, 21 is current (July 2026); version 20 had brought an AI search module, a plain-language module and dedicated accessibility tooling. Weblication is unusually far backwards-compatible – version 21 opens projects going back to version 5, so 16 years. A jump across several major versions is therefore not a rebuild but a plannable update. We know the two places where it still gets stuck: the server's PHP version (Weblication has required at least PHP 8.1 since version 17, with 8.2 or newer being sensible) and old BASE Classic templates, which unlike the newer mobile-first templates need manual work.

A takeover always follows the same programme: take stock of license, version, template generation, modules and hosting; update on a copy first, never live; then document the access credentials so you are not starting from zero at the next handover. That is exactly where most orphaned installations fail – not on the CMS.

And because "reliable" is a word every agency writes about itself, here are the commitments you can actually verify: the license runs in your name, not ours – we work inside your installation, not our own. Access to license management, hosting and domain belongs to you and is handed over documented, even if you move to someone else one day. There is no minimum term: you can book us on demand or take out fixed maintenance, and either can be ended. And you write directly to the developer doing the work – there is no intermediate layer here that passes your request along.

  • Weblication know-how plus real developer experience
  • One dedicated contact person instead of a ticket loop
  • Takeover of orphaned websites from other agencies
  • Accessibility, SEO and updates from one team

Honestly

When we advise against it

Not every enquiry belongs with us. These are the ones we turn down in the intro call – here they are upfront, so you can skip the call.

  • You do not have Weblication yet and are not tied to it

Then there is no reason for us to recommend this CMS. We will build what actually fits your case.

    Better fit: Web Development
  • An application with its own business logic rather than a website

A CMS is the wrong tool for that, whichever one you pick.

    Better fit: Custom Software

What the price depends on

We support you flexibly: ongoing care from €39/month or on call, billed by the hour at €79/h. Small tasks are billed to the minute, larger projects get an estimate upfront — you know where you stand before you commit.

Verifiable

Instead of references: what you can check yourself

For this service we have no client reference we could show with numbers we can back up – and inventing one is off the table. What we can offer instead is work of ours that is public and that you can check without us being involved.

  • This website

Built with React 19 and Next.js 16, statically pre-rendered. The source, the sitemap, the structured data and the Core Web Vitals are all public – run the homepage through PageSpeed Insights and you see the same numbers we do.

  • Our Shopware plugins

Published in the official Shopware Store, which means they went through Shopware’s code review. The description, changelog and ratings live there, not here.

  • Our iOS app

WebDAV Browser is on the App Store – published under our developer account and through Apple’s review.

Who builds this?

You work directly with Marcel

At Viovenia your project is not passed between rotating teams – it is built directly by Marcel, senior software engineer. You talk to the person who writes your code, from the first call to running in production. No project-manager loop, no ticket ping-pong.

How we work - Five steps to your project

Transparent and free of stress – that is how working with us goes. More about our process.

  1. 01

    Intro call

Half an hour where you describe the project and get concrete questions back. It ends with a first read on feasibility and rough size – including when that read is “not worth it”.

  2. 02

    Concept & quote

In writing, with scope, the technology involved, the assumptions behind it and what is explicitly not included. Split into “needed at launch” and “can come later”, so the scope stays negotiable.

  3. 03

    Development in stages

After each stage there is something usable on a test environment, not just a status report. Change requests go in where they are cheapest: before the next stage starts.

  4. 04

    Launch

Before going live: a run through the core workflows, a backup concept, monitoring switched on. Afterwards you get access, source code and documentation handed over in full, not on request.

  5. 05

    Operation

Updates, monitoring and further development – as fixed care or on call. No minimum term: what keeps you should be the work, not the contract.

Frequently asked - Questions about Weblication Support

What does a Weblication CMS agency do?
A Weblication CMS agency supports websites running on the Weblication CMS: content upkeep, version updates and security, custom templates, forms and interfaces, accessibility, technical SEO plus relaunch and migration. With us all of that comes from one team – including fast help when something breaks.
Do you take over websites from other Weblication agencies?
Yes, that is one of our most common cases. We work our way into the existing Weblication installation, sort out access to server, CMS and domain, document the current state and then take over ongoing support. A complete rebuild is almost never necessary – and your content stays where it is.
Do you make Weblication websites accessible?
Yes. Weblication is heavily used in the public sector, where BITV 2.0 applies; since June 28, 2025 the German Accessibility Act (BFSG) additionally covers many private-sector sites. We audit the typical weak spots – contrast, heading structure, alt texts, form labels, keyboard navigation – and fix them directly in the templates, so the fixes stick.
Am I tied into a contract?
No. You can book us on demand and pay by effort, or take out fixed monthly maintenance if you prefer predictability. Either can be ended, and when it ends you get every access credential documented – license, hosting, domain, DNS. Support that only holds because leaving hurts is not support.
What happens if you are on holiday or ill?
An honest answer, because it comes with being a small team: we are not a hotline running shifts. What we do instead is preparation rather than promises – your access credentials and the specifics of your installation are documented, so someone else can act in an emergency. We agree plannable work in advance, and when something genuinely breaks we tell you straight away whether we can manage it today or not, rather than stringing you along.
Do you support both Weblication CORE and GRID?
Both. CORE is the single-project license and covers company, association and municipal sites; GRID is the multi-project platform for many editors, several sites and high traffic. We can see which edition you are running from the installation itself – and it is part of what decides whether a request is configuration or development.
Which Weblication version do you update to?
To the current release, at present version 21 (July 2026). Because it opens projects going back to version 5 – 16 years – even large jumps are feasible. Beforehand we check two things: the server's PHP version (8.1 required as a minimum, 8.2 or newer sensible) and the template generation, since old BASE Classic templates need manual work.
How quickly do you respond to problems?
Quickly. You get a direct contact person instead of an anonymous hotline. For urgent issues – website down, silent forms, a botched update – we step in at short notice instead of putting you off until the next free slot.
Can you handle more complex changes as well?
Yes, especially those. Beyond the usual upkeep we build custom templates, special features, protected areas and interfaces to your other systems. Where it gets tricky, our experience from Laravel and custom software projects pays off.
Do I need a fixed maintenance contract?
Not necessarily. You can book us as ongoing support with a maintenance agreement, or simply call us when you need us. An agreement pays off mainly when content changes come up regularly and you do not want to track updates yourself.
