Custom Software Development

This is what we do best. Off-the-shelf software forces your company into its logic – we flip that around and build software that follows your workflows instead. Adjustable down to the last detail and extendable whenever you need it.

Sound familiar?

  • You juggle spreadsheets and isolated tools that never talk to each other.
  • Standard software covers 80 % of what you need – and the missing 20 % costs you time every single day.
  • Your processes are your competitive edge, and they should not have to bend to someone else’s software.

Then a conversation is the fastest route to an assessment.

What we do - What we build for you with Custom Software

  • Internal tools

Applications that mirror your actual workflows – from order management to production planning.

  • Process automation

Automate repetitive manual work and remove the steps where mistakes creep in.

  • System integration

Connect the systems you already have, so data gets entered once and can be used everywhere.

  • Replacing legacy systems

Carefully swap outdated software for a modern, maintainable solution – without disruption.

Almost anything is possible

There is hardly a requirement that cannot be turned into software. The question is rarely “Can it be done?” but “Is it worth the effort?” That is exactly where we give you a straight answer – including when an off-the-shelf product is the smarter call.

Where custom software does make sense, we build it cleanly, document it, and make sure it belongs to you. Tailored to your processes in detail, extendable at any time – no hidden dependencies, no vendor lock-in.

The calculation we do together beforehand is simple: what does the current state cost you per year? Two hours a week of someone retyping data from one system into another is roughly a hundred hours a year. If software takes that work over, it often pays for itself faster than the quote suggests. If it does not, we say so – and you save yourself the project.

We almost never start with the grand design. A tightly scoped first release that covers one single workflow completely and goes into real use after a few weeks is far more useful. What comes back from that is worth more than any concept document: only daily use reveals which edge cases actually occur and which ones existed only in the meeting. The build-out follows – with much better information.

Handover means handover here, not dependency. You get the source code, the repository runs in your name, the setup is documented, and we deliberately use widespread technology rather than home-grown constructions only we understand. Laravel and PHP are our base for exactly that reason: you can find developers for them any time. Software that ties you to us would be convenient for us and bad for you.

What we will not do: sell you a custom build when off-the-shelf software already covers your case. Accounting, payroll, standard CRM – mature products exist for those, and building against them is uneconomical. It gets interesting precisely where your workflow differs from the norm, because that difference is usually the reason your business works.

  • Tailored to your processes down to the detail
  • Extendable whenever your business grows
  • You keep full control over the code
  • Maintainable and understandable for years to come

Honestly

When we advise against it

Not every enquiry belongs with us. These are the ones we turn down in the intro call – here they are upfront, so you can skip the call.

  • Accounting, payroll or a classic CRM

Mature off-the-shelf products exist for those. Building against them is uneconomical – we would rather say so before you spend the money.

  • A company website with a handful of pages

That is a website project, not a software project – and priced accordingly.

    Better fit: Web Development
  • Selling online with the usual mechanics: cart, payment, shipping

A shop system already ships with all of that. Rebuilding what exists means paying for it twice.

    Better fit: Shopware & E-Commerce

What fits you - Three shapes – and what each one is good for

Pick the shape that matches your situation – the price is right there, so you never have to ask for it. It is a ballpark figure; your binding quote comes after a short conversation. If you would rather work it out yourself, use the package configurator: put together what you need there and see your price range right away.

What the price depends on

We bill custom projects transparently by the hour. After a free intro call you get an honest estimate from us here in Bavaria – so you know where you stand before anything starts.

From practice - Situation, solution, outcome

Situation, solution, result – that is how we work. The projects are described anonymously for confidentiality.

Manufacturing business from Bavaria

Ausgangslage
Production planning lived in an Excel file that had grown over years – version conflicts, formula errors and exactly one person who understood it.
Lösung
We replaced it with a tailored planning tool, rolled out module by module – starting with a pilot project for the biggest pain point.
Ergebnis
Version conflicts are gone, and the knowledge sits in the system instead of in a single Excel file only one person understands.

Trade business with several teams

Ausgangslage
Quotes, jobs and records were spread across isolated tools and folder structures – nothing talked to anything else.
Lösung
One central application that bundles quote and job management and connects the existing systems through interfaces.
Ergebnis
A job is created once and carries through the quote, the proof of work and the connected systems – the copying between disconnected tools is gone.

Who builds this?

You work directly with Marcel

At Viovenia your project is not passed between rotating teams – it is built directly by Marcel, senior software engineer. You talk to the person who writes your code, from the first call to running in production. No project-manager loop, no ticket ping-pong.

How we work - Five steps to your project

Transparent and free of stress – that is how working with us goes. More about our process.

  1. 01

    Intro call

Half an hour where you describe the project and get concrete questions back. It ends with a first read on feasibility and rough size – including when that read is “not worth it”.

  2. 02

    Concept & quote

In writing, with scope, the technology involved, the assumptions behind it and what is explicitly not included. Split into “needed at launch” and “can come later”, so the scope stays negotiable.

  3. 03

    Development in stages

After each stage there is something usable on a test environment, not just a status report. Change requests go in where they are cheapest: before the next stage starts.

  4. 04

    Launch

Before going live: a run through the core workflows, a backup concept, monitoring switched on. Afterwards you get access, source code and documentation handed over in full, not on request.

  5. 05

    Operation

Updates, monitoring and further development – as fixed care or on call. No minimum term: what keeps you should be the work, not the contract.

Frequently asked - Questions about Custom Software

What does custom software cost?
A clearly scoped first step – a single module, say, or replacing a spreadsheet – starts at from €3,900. Larger solutions with several modules and interfaces start at around €11,900, and ongoing development is billed at €79/h. We deliberately start small so you can weigh cost against value at every stage.
Is custom software worth it compared to off-the-shelf tools?
If a standard product covers your requirements well, we will honestly tell you to use it. Custom software pays off where your processes are unusual or where they are your competitive edge – and standard software would slow you down.
Do I own the software in the end?
Yes. You get the source code and you are not dependent on us. We build without hidden dependencies on purpose, so you stay free to decide in the long run.
How long does a custom software project take?
A tightly scoped first release covering one workflow completely is usually in real use within six to ten weeks. Larger systems grow on top of that step by step. We deliberately advise against building the full feature set for months before anyone works with it – in practice, a third of the planned features regularly turn out to be needed differently than assumed.
What happens if Marcel is unavailable?
A fair question for a two-person team, so without sugar-coating: we do not have a stand-in rota like a large agency. What we do instead is keep the dependency small from the outset. You get the source code, the repository runs in your name, the setup is documented, and we build on Laravel and PHP – technology you can find developers for anywhere. If the worst happens, someone else can take over without having to understand the project from scratch.
Do you work regionally or across borders?
Both. We are based in Bavaria and build software for companies across Germany, Austria and Switzerland – remotely, in German or English, with a direct line to the developer, not to an account manager.
