Try them yourself – every single one is included in the free version, no strings attached.
Play videos directly from your server without downloading the entire file first. Includes Picture-in-Picture, playback speed, resume positions and SRT subtitles. Playback startup depends on your connection and server; if streaming is not supported, the app can download the file.
Privacy - Files directly from your server
File contents transfer directly to and from your WebDAV server. Viovenia runs no intermediary server. Connection details such as server addresses and usernames can sync between your devices through Apple’s CloudKit.
Passwords in Apple Keychain
Passwords are stored in Apple Keychain. If iCloud Keychain sync is enabled, Apple also makes them available on your other devices.
OCR and search run entirely on-device
Search indexing and text recognition run on your device. File contents are not sent to an external OCR service for processing.
Certificate pinning that raises an alarm
Self-signed certificates (typical for NAS setups) are secured via trust-on-first-use with SHA-256 pinning. If the certificate ever changes, the app alerts you.
Face ID lock with a privacy cover
Lock the app with Face ID – optionally even per server connection.

Without active Premium, your first connection stays fully usable; additional connections are locked until you renew the subscription. Not a single feature within a usable connection is locked.
FAQ
What is WebDAV, anyway?
WebDAV is an open standard for accessing file servers over HTTPS. Many storage providers speak it out of the box: Hetzner Storage Boxes, Nextcloud, ownCloud, Synology and QNAP NAS devices, MagentaCLOUD, HiDrive, pCloud or Koofr. WebDAV Browser connects directly to your server – no middleman service.
Does it work with my NAS?
Very likely yes: any server that speaks WebDAV works – and there are ready-made presets with setup hints for Synology and QNAP. Self-signed certificates are fine too; they are pinned securely via trust-on-first-use.
What happens when my subscription ends?
Your connections and settings stay saved, but the free-tier limit applies again: your first server connection keeps working with the full feature set, while any additional connections are locked until you renew the subscription. Renew and everything is right back.
Where are my passwords stored?
In Apple Keychain. If iCloud Keychain sync is enabled, passwords can be available on your other devices through Apple. Server addresses and usernames can sync separately through CloudKit. Viovenia runs no server for your credentials.
Why does it require iOS 26?
The app is built entirely in SwiftUI with the current Liquid Glass design and uses modern system features like Live Activities. That keeps it lean and makes it feel like part of the system.
